Artist/teacher Connie Benedict graduated with honors and
a BA in Studio
Art from MSSU in Joplin, MO. A native of Oklahoma, she grew
up in the secluded area of the Grand Lake region known as
the Wyandotte Hills.
She contributes her life philosophy to wonderful opportunities
she had as
a child to freely explore the beautiful, forested environment
that surrounded her home. The reverence she holds for the
sublime power of nature is the essence that strengthens
and inspires her.
“Life is my inspiration! Life is a journey we must
all travel. The life journey
is a multi-faceted experience. Each component as important
as the other
in forming the person that God wants us to become. We are
faced with all kinds of experiences along this journey,
whether good, bad, ugly or magnificent they hold equal significance
in our lives. The way we react to these experiences determines
the outcome of our journey. Much like a diamond is formed
by years and years of great heat and pressure… so
it is with the soul of man. Life is not always beautiful,
at times it is incredibly hard and ugly, but it is none
the less the driving force that leads us to seek the glory
of God. I hope in some way to convey this spirit in my art
work. To strike a chord of recognition in those who seek
to find my intended message.
